There is no concrete scientific evidence that that acai berry will help you to lose weight. There have not been any actual studies on the acai and weight loss specifically. However, there is plenty of anecdotal evidence and many people have lost weight by including this nutritious little berry in their diet plans.

Providing your body with high nutrition can be a huge advantage when it comes to weight loss. Many cravings are actually our body’s way of trying to achieve the advanced nutritional levels it needs for maximum health. Many times we crave foods because our bodies are lacking vital nutrients.

The acai is proving to be one of the healthiest and most nutritious foods on the planet. It is loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids and amino acids. As far as antioxidant capacity goes, this berry rates higher than almost any other food, with only a few ground spices exceeding it for antioxidant capacity.

The second group was only given the restrictive diet and a third group was given the restrictive diet along with the whole fruits that contained anthocyanins. The group that was given the purified anthocyanins lost significantly more body fat than the other two groups.

The acai is also high in healthy fats. It is loaded with essential fatty acids, which are crucial in stabilizing blood sugar levels, which is important for weight loss. Essential fatty acids are also critical for our cardiovascular, immune, reproductive and skin health.

These essential fatty acids that are so important for our good health also trigger our body’s natural fat-burning ability. These fats are a potent blood-sugar stabilizer. When our blood sugar levels spike our bodies pump insulin to counteract the sugar in our blood. The problem arises because insulin is a fat-promoting hormone and elevated insulin blocks the body’s ability to burn stored fat for energy as well as creating a rapid decline in blood sugar levels that results in more hunger. Keeping our blood sugar stabilized is an important factor in weight loss and the essential fatty acids from the acai berry can help do this.

There may not be any concrete scientific evidence on the efficacy of the acai berry for weight loss but there are many people who have lost weight by using the acai berry diet. The fact is that the high nutrition that you receive from the acai can only benefit your body in a number of beneficial ways.
